“What does giving a plant a historical period mean? And not just a biological time, but also social and political time?”1. It is with this question that Marco Scotini starts his investigation between ecology and the art of Vegetation as a political agent. The exhibition opened at the PAV – Parco Arte Vivente (Park of Living Art) in Turin and runs from 30 May to 31 December 2014. The question is also the beginning for the conversation between the curator and Piero Gilardi, creator of the PAV, an artist who from the outset (with his Tappeti natura – Natural Carpets in the 60s) has repeatedly reinvented himself, going from activism, to alternative communication, from bioart and to ecology.
