“Phantasma und Politik” è il titolo emblematico che raggruppa una serie di incontri a cura di Helmut Draxler nell’ambito della programmazione del teatro berlinese HAU – Hebbel am Ufer. L’ottavo appuntamento, tenutosi a inizio giugno, ha approcciato la questione della critica nella sua dimensione fantasmatica. Da Walter Benjamin passando per Jacques Derrida fino a Slavoj Žižek abbiamo imparato a guardare in faccia i (nostri) fantasmi smettendo di opporli alla realtà e riconoscendoli semplicemente come parte di essa. Al di là dei differenti orizzonti filosofici si registra un rumore di fondo comune: la postmodernità inscena continuamente il ritorno spettrale del moderno più per esorcizzarlo che per liberarsene davvero. “Phantasma und Politik” is the emblematic title that unites the series of meetings curated by Helmut Draxler as part of the Berlin theatre HAU’s (Hebbel am Ufer) programme. The eighth meeting, held in early June, addressed the issue of scholarly criticism in the field of the phantom dimension. From Walter Benjamin through to Jacques Derrida and to Slavoj Žižek, we have learned to face (our) ghosts by accepting them as part of our reality. Behind the different philosophical horizons, there is a general consensus: postmodernity continuously conjures a spectral return of the modern so that it may exorcise it, not to rid itself of it. (…)
